What is it about music and driving that make the two so inexorably linked? Hard to say, but there's simply no doubting that the right tune can turn a boring and mundane drive home from work into a truly enjoyable experience.
But have you ever actually tried making music using your automobile? It's been done before, but never in quite the same way as you'll see performed in the video after the break, courtesy of our friends at Audi. Sure, you might say that the 265 horses under the S3's hood make more than enough neighs whinnies music all on their own, but there's no use crying over spilled... um, water.

Anything you can do, men I can do better. Sometimes, it seems that those of us who are of the male persuasion seem to think that we can do just about anything. And we're right, most of the time. There do exist those rare occurrences, however, when that hubris gets in the way of actual life.
Fortunately, there are women. For the most part, these fairer creatures don't seem to be struck with the tendency to want to prove their masculinity femininity at every possible juncture. And, as we recently learned, men tend to be worse off behind the wheel because of it.
Such is the case with today's Funny Car Commercial of the Day. Three men from South Africa embark on a bass-ackwards journey just to prove a point. Oh, and despite the ending, we feel the need to mention that the men did, in fact, make it to Capetown as promised. Point made. Mazda's commercial advertisements have long relied on the "Zoom Zoom" catchphrase, denoting that the assorted vehicles from the Japanese automaker are more fun to drive than their more staid competition. But eventually even Mazda drivers need to find a parking spot after Zoom Zooming themselves around all day.
Plus, even the smallest and most practical of cars, in this case a diminutive Mazda2 from the United Kingdom, have trouble parallel parking into the tight confines of an urban parking spot... unless, of course, there happens to be a Rube Goldburg-esque (though imminently more simplistic) contraption in place to ease the sketchy situation.

Football fans – or, if you happen to live in the United States... soccer fans – are well aware that 2010 is the year of the FIFA World Cup. The international competition has been run every four year since 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not contested because of World War II. Stay tuned for this year's festivities in June and July from South Africa.
What does soccer football have to do with cars? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Unless you are Renault, it would seem. The French automaker has been associating itself with the sport for the last few years with a series of print and video advertisements for its Megane hatchback.
One such ad, which you can find conveniently pasted after the break, shows exactly what might happen if one overly exuberant Megane-owning football fan misjudges the power of his own free kick.

When life gives you lemons... make lemonade. So goes the ol' saying, at least. But what if the curveball life happens to be throwing your way (and the rest of your small Brazilian town) is an active volcano? Well then, make popcorn.
And we can think of no better vehicle with which to climb the fire-spewing peak than a Volkswagen Saveiro, which is sadly one of VW's made-in-Brazil, non-U.S.-market offerings. The little trucklet features a flex-fuel 1.6-liter engine underhood that offers up 101 horsepower on gasoline or 104 when drunk on ethanol.

Being the type of people who obsessively cover the auto industry, we generally prefer four-wheeled travel to pedal-for-yourself bicycling. Not that riding a bike is a bad thing... quite the opposite, actually. Getting out, seeing the sights and smelling the fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of the city is a great way to spend some free time and maybe put a dent in the ol' blogger spare tire.
That said, if we've got somewhere to be, like, say, meeting up with some old Italian friends at the local wine bar, we'd certainly opt for the car. After watching the video after the break, though, we wonder if it would be a safer bet to just hop on the bus. Guess it depends on your chosen occupation, eh? Nowadays, being politically correct is of the utmost importance to companies the world over, and that includes automakers. Especially Volkswagen, apparently. Judging from the commercial pasted after the break, the German automaker – which just happens to have recently earned the title of World's Largest Automaker – wants you to know that everyone loves it cars, regardless of age, sex, race or color.
Volkswagen is also accepting of any sexual preference, and it doesn't care if you are right- or left-handed. Do you like to drive fast? Slow? It doesn't matter – the Volkswagen New Beetle is the perfect car for you. Or something like that.

These days, cars and trucks need to pass a slew of strict testing procedures before they can be certified for sale. Included among these procedures are tests for safety, emissions, performance and reliability. Though they're surely a hassle for automakers and one reason it's so difficult to bring a new model to market, these tests are also why today's cars are better than they've ever been before.
Apparently, things are done a little differently in Europe. While we might have guessed that today's Funny Car Commercial was made by Citroen – quite possibly the quirkiest automaker in existence – the advertisement is actually from French automaker Renault. Though the ad says it's "99% Serious," we kinda think they've got it backwards.

Ever see those poor men and women out on a hot and sunny summer day dressed up in some ridiculous costume as some sort of promotion their employers are running? We truly feel for these people, but it seems not everyone is as kind and caring... probably those same jerks in middle school that used to knock the books out of our hands in the hallways.
Next time you happen to spot such a costumed worker, remember that you never know who – or, indeed, what – might be lurking under that unfortunate outfit. As you'll see in the video pasted after the break (which is only kinda sorta about the South African Ford Icon), it's not always what you might expect. Head on over to veryfunnyads.com for more hilarious commercials from around the world.

We've always been dog people. It's not so much that there's something wrong with cats, it's just that we can do more with our dogs... like teach them tricks, take them to the beach and play fetch. Apparently, Volkswagen of Argentina is full of dog people too. Well, dogfish people, at least.
Just like with their furry companions, it seems that dogfishes are so much more interesting and fun than catfish. We don't know of anyone that keeps a catfish as a pet, and even if they did, catfish don't like to go on walks or for car rides. Heck, catfish don't even want to get out of the water. Dogfishes do all of these things. What do they have to do with cars? We have no idea.
